Pratise making and reading sentences using the silly sentences cards and the colour coded grid. Increase children’s confidence in writing sentences using who, what, where, and when.

This resource includes a grid for structuring sentences using: Who? When? Where? What? and Who? What? Where? When? Plus some example sentences. The next sheet has a selection of cards to cut out and laminate. These can be used to make different silly sentences. Each card has a colour which corresponds to its place in the sentence. The sentence can then be written down if required.

Sometimes children find starting a story hard, this sheet encourages children to roll a die, this then chooses the character, setting and problem. Ta da!!! I have also included some sentences openers and adjectives gathered from using the senses.

These snakes and ladders board games contain a large selection of the: Year 1/2 Spelling words, Year 3/4 Spelling words & Year 5/6 Spelling words. There are seperate boards for each of the mixed year spelling words. I printed these 4 pages to a sheet then cut and laminated. Great for practising spelling in a fun way.

A good activity for those who need extra support with reading, writing or maths. Encourage children to make their own top trump cards and practise skills through playing.
